\u00c1guas do Planalto, a company belonging to the Aquapor Group, a leader in the management of municipal water concessions in Portugal, gave 1,300 reusable stainless steel bottles to the T\u00e1bua School Group.<\/p>\n
This initiative, which took place on January 14, is seen by the company as a way of raising awareness among the students of the T\u00e1bua school community about reducing their ecological footprint, encouraging them to reduce their use of plastics and to consume more tap water.<\/p>\n
The campaign, which involved an investment of 25,000 euros by \u00c1guas do Planalto, will run until the end of the school year in fourteen schools in the municipality. All 8,000 pupils involved will receive their own environmentally-friendly bottle.<\/p>\n
For Paulo Oliveira, Director of the Aquapor Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of \u00c1guas do Planalto, this is an initiative with a strong impact on the younger community, since \u201cit is through this that a change in the environmental paradigm will begin and, consequently, a greater awareness of the need to change our behavior on a daily basis\u201d. Paulo Oliveira recalls that young people \u201care our adults of tomorrow.\u201d As for the quality of water in the municipality, the Director of the Aquapor Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of \u00c1guas do Planalto argues that the company \u201chas made a huge investment in the water collection and distribution system in recent years. Today we have excellent water quality. Offering these reusable stainless steel bottles is a great way for us all to consume more tap water.\u201d<\/p>\n
In addition to Paulo Oliveira, the ceremony to hand over the bottles was attended by the Directors of \u00c1guas do Planalto, Jos\u00e9 Ferreira dos Santos and Narciso Matias, the Mayor, Vice Mayor and Councillor of T\u00e1bua Town Council, M\u00e1rio Loureiro, Ricardo Cruz and Ant\u00f3nio Oliveira, respectively, and the Director of the T\u00e1bua School Group, Sid\u00f3nio Costa.<\/p>\n
Preserving the environment and environmental impact is everyone’s responsibility and \u00c1guas do Planalto is thus making its contribution in one of the five municipalities in which it operates – in this case, T\u00e1bua.
