The school communities of Mortágua and Santa Comba Dão now have their own environmentally-friendly stainless steel bottles.

Through the awareness campaign carried out by Águas do Planalto, the Mortágua and Santa Comba Dão school groups received reusable bottles this Thursday, April 22.

The Mortágua School Group received 1,125 bottles and Santa Comba Dão received 1,200. These bottles will be distributed to all the students, teachers and technical assistants at the respective schools.

The delivery ceremonies were attended by Águas do Planalto’s board of directors, Daniel Morais, representing the municipality of Mortágua, and Rui Alcino Ferreira, representing the Mortágua School Group.

Present in Santa Comba Dão were Leonel Gouveia and Agostinho Marques, Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Santa Comba Dão, respectively, and Madalena Dinis, Director of the Santa Comba Dão School Group.

The initiative aims to raise awareness among the school community in the municipalities covered of the need to reduce our ecological footprint, reduce our use of plastics and consume more tap water. In addition, in the context of the pandemic, the measure can also have a positive impact, as it limits contact with objects that are not personal.

Preserving the environment and environmental impact is everyone’s responsibility and Águas do Planalto is thus making its contribution in the five municipalities where it has been operating since 1998. The company serves more than 72,000 inhabitants and honors its commitment to guarantee the supply and distribution of water to the population.
