More than 600 students mark National Water Day in Batalha schools
The Municipality of Batalha, in partnership with the company Águas do Lena (Aquapor Group), marked National Water Day today, October 1, in the primary schools of the Municipality of Batalha.
The more than 600 students involved in the initiative were given a calendar for 2020 alluding to environmental issues, with tips on reducing consumption of this resource, an explanation of the urban water cycle and the importance of sorting solid urban waste.
At the same time, a comic strip competition has been launched with the theme “Urban Water Cycle”, which aims to raise awareness among the school community of the different stages of the urban water cycle and alert them to the importance of preserving it.
The winners of the competition will be announced on January 20, 2020, and the authors of the 10 best entries will receive a guided tour of the Lisbon Oceanarium.
